Helly Hanson Workwear

Helly Hansen Founded in 1877 by Norwegian sea captain Helly Juell Hansen and his wife Maren Margarethe, Helly Hansen began with a mission to protect sailors from the harsh Nordic climate. By soaking coarse linen in linseed oil, they created the first supple, waterproof oilskin jackets and trousers, which quickly earned recognition at the 1878 Paris World Expo.

Throughout the 20th century, the brand pioneered key protective technologies, in 1970, establishing a signature three-layer, moisture-wicking, and protective workwear formula. Over 140 years later, the company has evolved from its maritime roots to become a global leader in professional-grade workwear.

Very. Ergonomic fits, stretch panels, articulated knees, and lightweight insulation mean less restriction and less fatigue — even on 10–12 hour shifts.

Built for abuse. Reinforced stitching, Cordura® panels, abrasion-resistant fabrics — this stuff is designed to last, not get replaced every few months.

Yes. The range includes:

  • Lightweight summer workwear

  • Insulated winter jackets

  • Waterproof outer layers

  • Mid-layers you can stack

Layer it up or strip it back — it’s designed to adapt.

Sizing is true to size with a practical, working fit (room to move, not baggy). If you plan on heavy layering, consider sizing up in outerwear.

Follow the care label instructions, avoid fabric softeners, and use suitable detergents for waterproof garments to maintain performance and extend garment lifespan.
